Sunday morning we woke up to the sound of branches snapping off trees! We were really lazy due to church being canceled due to the ice storm that we had last night. The trees looked like they were all made of glass. They broke like glass too! A small breeze would come through and break the ends off the limbs and periodically a large branch would crack off the tree and come down in an explosive crash. Instead of church we decided to sit and watch a movie. While we were cuddled up on the couch next to the sliding glass window at the back of the living room a branch came down with a shatter. We thought for sure that the branch had destroyed the small shed in the backyard and everything around it, judging by the sound that it made. We looked out the window to find a rather large branch propped up against the side of the little shed, just a few feet from the large glass window that we were sitting next to. Fortunately, it even missed the light fixture next to the shed door.
We felt pretty blessed that the big branch didn't destroy our comfortable, relatively quiet Sunday. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our small backyard.
