We had a great Christmas this year. Wes had Christmas Eve and Christmas Day completely off, so we were extra lucky. It even snowed a bit on Christmas Eve, so we had a white Christmas. It's been a few years since that happened. It was really nice and the snow made everything really quiet and peaceful. Charlie loved that it snowed and was super excited to play in it. We had the Crawford's over for Christmas Eve dinner. It was a fun evening, and of course Anna and Charlie had a ball together. Charlie wanted Anna to spend the night and even offered his own bed to her. It was pretty sweet. After we got the kids settled in bed and promised Charlie that Santa wouldn't actually come into the house but would instead leave the presents on the porch, we got all ready for Christmas morning. The kids didn't wake up too early, and we actually were able to get all showered and dressed and eat a yummy breakfast before we broke into the presents. Then the fun really began. Charlie loved opening gifts this year and wanted to open every one's stuff. Reese liked pulling the paper off her presents too. They both received some pretty neat toys. Charlie has liked everything he got and has played with it all. Reese just goes with the flow and plays with things as she pleases. It was a very nice Christmas for all of us. Wes tried to pull one over on me by wrapping up one of his old gun boxes, but it didn't go over too well. He made up for it with a mini ipad for me. The rest of the day was spent playing with the kids and a visit to the Crawford home for a bit. It was a nice day. We are so lucky and blessed to have each other and to have our families. We missed being with them on this special day, but we miss being with them everyday. How thankful we are for the gospel of Jesus Christ and to know we are eternally linked together.
