A Nice Break

Wes had a super busy week with presenting anatomy, journal club, and two nights of call.  We knew we weren't going to see much of him, and the Updegroves were pretty busy themselves.  Wendy invited us to her parents' house, and we jumped at the chance for a change in scenery with some good company.  The kids had so much fun playing with Natalie and Austin.  Charlie was so super friendly and happy.  He got to go out and feed the horses with Natalie and her grandpa both nights, and he was able to ride on the tractor.  Both kids ate well, played nicely, and slept pretty well also.  Charlie was actually hilarious calling Wendy's father "the farm man" since he took them out to see the animals.  We had a great time, and it was good timing since Wes got sick while we were gone and then we weren't around him to get sick ourselves.  Thanks to Wendy and her parents for the nice little break.  The kids were so much better behaved when we got back.  It was just what we needed.
