This was one of the coolest spontaneous events. I received a text from a friend who lives down the street and she informed me that the Derry Township Fire Department was set up by Gelder Park spraying water out of their hoses for the kids. We jumped in the car with Charlie, Jack, and Eli and hurried down. They had five fire trucks set up and had their hoses spraying away while kids were running threw getting totally soaked. It was really fun to watch. Charlie didn't want to get wet, but he did hold the hose and wear a real hat, and he was pretty interested in the control panel on one of the fire trucks. Jack had a blast running through the shower of water, and Eli liked splashing in the puddles. In reality, Hershey's fire department was doing a training on mass contamination and how to clean everyone off. So it helped the fireman and it was a fun evening for us.
