We didn't get to celebrate Charlie's birthday until Friday due to Wes being away for a fellowship interview and I had YW New Beginnings that night. But Charlie was a good sport about it. He celebrated at school and we went to McDonald's for lunch. He was happy enough. On Friday, he wanted to go to Jo Jo's for pizza, so once Wes got home from work, we headed there and had a delicious dinner. It was fun to eat there instead of just our usual takeout, and the kids ate their entire portions. We headed home, and Charlie had a large load of presents to open. He was excited. He got a lot of fun things like Lego's, sleeping bags, and a tent, some educational games, a hot wheels track, and a new bike and helmet. He had a good haul. We then had his birthday cake, which he requested that it be an ambulance cake. It ended up looking pretty cute, and he and Reese gobbled it up. It was a fun evening for him. I can't believe that he's five years old already. He's such a good boy and has really grown up a lot in the last few months. We love him very much.
