Charlie Stitched Up

Charlie has had more energy than usual, excited about a new baby and not getting out as much as we had.  He's literally running laps in the house multiple times a day.  While we were finishing eating Reese's birthday cake, Charlie was running around the table and tripped.  He hit his chin on something and sliced a bit of it open.  He was so upset once he knew it was bleeding.  We debated whether it needed a few stitches because it was a bit deep, but of course we didn't really want to go to the emergency room.  Wes checked his stash and was able to round up the essentials.  After Reese opened her gifts, Wes put two little stitches in.  Charlie didn't flinch, thanks to some topically applied lidocaine and ice numbing.  He was a total trooper.  I wish this would make Charlie double think about running around the house, but I know it won't stop him.  So grateful and impressed with a hubby who can help our kids like this when they need it.
