Happy Independence Day

Wes was post call on the 4th of July and worked until almost noon.  So Charlie, Reese, and I hit up the ward breakfast at Shank Park and had yummy pancakes and fruit.  It was a cool morning, which was nice after the heat wave we've had.  After Wes got home, we chilled for a while and had a little BBQ of our own and went for a walk along Bullfrog Valley path trying to coax this baby out.  The kids had a lot of fun walking the path.  We then ran and got a few small fireworks to set off in our parking area.  Reese wasn't too sure about them, but Charlie kinda liked the tanks.  As it was starting to get dark, we headed over to watch the HersheyPark fireworks. It was the first time we've had the kids stay up to see them.  Both were excited, but Charlie most of all.  The fireworks were fun to watch and went on for quite awhile.  It was a good show.  It took us over an hour to get home due to traffic, but the kids quickly fell asleep in the car and transferred to bed easily once we got home.  It was a fun, low key 4th of July.
