Derry Township is so great. They do so many family friendly activities throughout the year. One of our favorites is the Easter Egg Hunt at Shank Park. I think we have been every year since Charlie was able to participate at 2 years old. Charlie and Reese have been talking about it all week, and the weather forecast has been for really cold temps (around 30 degrees). So I kept prepping them that it would be cold, but they did not care. So we dressed really warm - hats, gloves, winter coats, and even snow pants - and headed over to meet friends. And it was cold. There were snow flurries and some snow on the ground. All the little kids and babies weren't too happy, Hailey included. But the bigger kids were all excited for candy and prizes. Reese went out in the 3-4 age group and got a good amount of eggs. She got three prizes and a bunch of candy. She was happy. Charlie went out in the 5-6 group with several of his friends and got a good load too. They were both happy with the prizes and candy they collected. Reese and Hailey said hi to the Easter Bunny too. And as soon as we were done, we raced to the car to get warm. Charlie said it was a blast, so it was worth it. Hopefully our next Easter Egg hunt this year won't be as cold.
