As you can tell from the previous posts, last week, we went down to the Outer Banks and spent a week at a great beach house in Nags Head with several friends. Most of Wes's LDS classmates and their families were able to make it. We did missed the Thompsons and Ashley. There were 14 adults and 13 kids (all under 6), so it was quite a busy house. Each family had their own room, and we had an awesome kitchen, living, and dining area, a movie room, a game area, and a pool and hot tub were outside. The beach was just across the street; we could see the ocean from our house. We ate a lot of great food, spend time at the beach and in the pool, took walks, did some Zumba, some fishing, a little shopping, and a whole lotta fun. It great to spend a week with our friends before they all depart for residency. Thanks everyone for an awesome time. We'll try it again in another 30 years or so.

Happy as could be for the almost 8 hour drive
Our house - A Lot of Sol
We had one of the masters - it was pretty awesome

The bathroom was really nice. I love the double sink vanity.
We had a separate shower and jacuzzi bathtub. The shower was about the size of my current kitchen. (And as you can see, the toilet seat is us just waiting for Charlie to throw some things in it, ie. water bottles and jeans)

Charlie's first view of the ocean - He loved it

Charlie loved walking along the beach, although the water was much too cold for him.

Our one rainy day, we went to see the Wright Brothers Museum where they took their first flight. It was really interesting. Here's a replica of that plane. There were a bunch of pictures on the wall of those who have had influence on flying, and there were several names I remember from USAFA - Doolittle, Arnold, and Mitchell. Made me think of Judd and the few times we visited the Academy.
The marker of where the first plane took off
You can see the four markers in the distance of how far the plane got before it got knocked over by a wind gust and could not be fixed.

Wes ready to fish - how he spend several hours at the beach. Too bad he only caught 9 skate and not any fish we could actually eat.
