Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a fun Memorial Day weekend.  Judd, Jeannie, and the kids drove in on Friday to spend the weekend with us.  Charlie loved having his cousins here.  Wes was on call on Saturday, so he didn't get to spend a ton of time with them, but he did have Friday night, much of Sunday, and Monday morning.  The kids wanted to go "swimming" on Saturday, so we hit up HersheyPark so we could swim at the Boardwalk.  We went on several rides and spend much of the afternoon at the water park.  We got rained on a bit, but being in the lazy river was the best place to be sprinkled on since you're already getting sprinkled.  The kids had so much fun and they were very good.  We didn't make it home until almost 10 PM, so we really spent the day there and had a great time.  Charlie was exhausted from the long day with no nap and from not sleeping so great the night before because he was excited his cousins were visiting.  When we got home and I took him up to his room, he just kept saying "bed, now."  So that's what we did, and he slept great that night.  Sunday, we had waffles for breakfast and got ready for church.  We got a new bishopric at church, which was exciting, and then everyone went home while I stayed to teach my class.  We had our Memorial Day BBQ for dinner and then walked down to our park where the kids had fun running around and seeing the Swatara Creek.  We ended that adventure with some homemade ice cream (thankfully it turned out okay for my first time doing it all by myself) and a good night's sleep.  Monday, Judd and Wes went to the shooting range for a bit while the kids played at home.  They took off after a quick breakfast at Panera, since the Pantry was closed for the holiday.  We had so much fun and were so glad they could come and visit.  After they left, Charlie kept saying, "Chase go bye-bye."  So cute.  I wish we lived so much closer to family so he could see everyone more.  Monday afternoon, we went and had a BBQ at the Updegrove's and had a good time chatting with friends.  Charlie even got to run through the sprinkler in his clothes since I forgot to take his swimsuit.  He liked doing that.  I need to get a little pool for him to enjoy in our backyard to enjoy this summer.  It was a great weekend and a great start to summer.

Annabelle and Charlie

Can you see the happy face on Charlie?

I love that Chase has his arm around Charlie

Enjoying the sun at the Boardwalk

Chase fell asleep while in Jeannie's arm on the lazy river,
and he stayed asleep like this fo a good hour.

Putting his life vest back on to go in the water

Judd and Annabelle obviously having fun

Chase practicing his balance

Annabelle doing the slide her way

Dax having fun on the slides

Charlie's always happy at the park

The tire swing was a big hit

Can you see Annabelle in utter glee?

Judd and Chase on the swings

Annabelle holding on tight

Wes and Charlie swinging away

All the boys swinging away

Down by the Swatara Creek.

How much every one has grown since I've seen them last! Looks like you all had a lot of fun; so lucky to be somewhat close to your brother and family.
