Flint Adventures: Utah Trip: Part II

Wes went back and was immediately on call. Poor guy. And it wasn't even the normal 28 hours of call - he had to work most of Tuesday as well. So he put in more like 36 hours straight. (I know - total hour violation.) Luckily they gave him Wednesday off so he could get some sleep. See, it was a good thing I decided to stay longer. We continued to have fun with grandparents, family, and friends. Some of the fun things we did...went to Witchfest at Gardner Village, Sandy Aquarium, shopping, lunches out, dinners out, visiting the Salt Lake temple (also known as Papa's temple since he's an ordinance worker there) just for Charlie, visiting the Lichty's, visiting with the Rose family, seeing the leaves start to change along the foothills, especially along Wasatch Blvd., and just letting the kids play and have fun.

Some fun things about Charlie on this trip...he loved to play outside at my parents' house, and he liked going out all by himself with the dogs. He went out multiple times a day and just had a blast playing with the trucks. He really loved the dogs. He would rush up every morning to see them, and he was even excited to see Riley over at the Flints, as long as he didn't have to be alone with him. He had to go to nursery at my parents' church. We were just going to go home after sacrament meeting because Reese was beyond tired, but Charlie got all upset and wanted to stay for nursery. So my mom and dad stayed for the next two meetings and Charlie had a blast playing in the nursery. I must admit they have some pretty cool toys that most other nurseries don't have. He loved the witches at Witchfest - especially the fireman and the one sitting on the potty. He loved playing with his cousins. I so wish he could see all of his cousins more. Watching him interact with his grandparents was especially neat. He loves them so much. I hate living so far away from family. Charlie did so well on the plane just watching movies and staying quiet while I wrestled Reese trying to keep her entertained. And Charlie is totally potty trained, and really probably has been for a while. But we officially gave up diapers at night, and there have been no accidents. He's growing up so fast, which is evident in the fact that he's now out of 3T clothes.

Reese was a doll, of course. She did get a little cold while we were out there, but she weathered through just fine. And she's such a trooper. She missed her nap a lot and would only get short ones in car, but she did so good. When she first met the dogs, she really wasn't sure, but it didn't take her long to warm up. She was constantly searching out Gracie to give her a pat on the back and let Gracie lick her cheek. She loved playing with new toys. She's mastering going down stairs. We'll soon be able to take down our gate. Yeah! She loved meeting new friends and playing with them. And she loved being with her grandparents, especially when if I wasn't around.

It was a great trip, and I'm so glad we could stay. Hopefully we make it back soon because the time sure flew by.
