Charlie started soccer and swimming lessons last week. He really seemed to enjoy soccer, although it was his first week and he wasn't totally sure what he was doing. But I hope he will continue to enjoy it and learn from his coach. We also started swimming lessons, and those were a little rough at first. He did okay his first day, but the second day, he would only stay on the side of the pool and kick and splash the water. We had a big talk about how his teachers were going to keep him safe and it was okay to listen to them and do what they asked him to. Finally on Thursday, we had a breakthrough and he did awesome. He got in the water and jumped around and did everything his teachers wanted him to. And when he was done, he came up to me and asked to go in again. I was so happy. Hopefully this week's lessons will go well again. We also did HersheyPark a couple of times this week, once at the Boardwalk and once with friends on the rides. I love how much the kids love to go to HersheyPark. And it totally wears them out so they sleep so well that night. Charlie loved the Boardwalk, which was another huge step because the first time we went, he didn't even want to go in the water. He was totally splashing around and went down one of the little slides about a hundred times. We also had so much fun on the rides with our friends. Charlie went on a new ride, and he absolutely loved it. I know we'll be doing that ride a lot more. It was a good week with lots of fun. We love summer in Hershey.
